Guinness World Record
South Australians waved to the world at this year's Credit Union Christmas Pageant when they attempted to set a Guinness World Record for the largest ever Mexican Wave.
The Mexican Wave was a great way for the thousands of pageant spectators to have fun while they waited for the pageant to start. And thanks to your help, the wave travelled the whole 3.3km pageant route from Adelaides South Terrace to North Terrace, which was a huge achievement and was very exciting for everyone involved.
Unfortunately we fell just short of breaking the Guinness World Record, but we hope that you all enjoyed the experience of contributing to pageant day.
Australia's representative from Guinness World Records, Chris Sheedy, was in Adelaide to watch the record attempt. Chris was extremely impressed and said it was one of the biggest record attempts ever in Australia.
"In ten years of working for Guinness World Records Ive seen some extremely impressive events around the world, but never have I seen thousands of people coming together for such a wonderful celebration of community of spirit", said Chris.
