Diary Details: Pageant Day
More than 320,000 spectators are expected to line Adelaides streets on Saturday 14 November 2009for the much-anticipated start of the 2009 Credit Union Christmas Pageant.
The iconic South Australian event is set to thrill this year with 85 sets, bands and performance groups, including six brand new floats. Over 3,600 South Australians will have devoted their time to ensure this years festive event will be one of the most spectacular and magical parades, yet.
For the first time in the events entire long-running history a King and his Princes will join the Credit Union Christmas Pageant Queen and her Princesses on top of the innovative Royal Family Float.
The Credit Union Christmas Pageant will make its second attempt to secure a Guinness World Recordfor the worlds longest and largest Mexican Wave.The crowd will know what to do because there will be a NEW speaker system installed along the whole Pageant route and it will run from South Tce to North Tce along both sides at once. It starts at 9.10 am, so get there before 9.00am to stand up and be counted.
The Credit Union Survival Sites are also located along the route and Pageant goers are encouraged to visit them for route and Pageant information, sunscreen, water and assistance with lost children. Pick up your FREE badge to write your name and number on to pin to your child, just in case they become lost.
Most importantly all spectators are urged to bring their widest smiles, loudest cheers and biggest waves to give Father Christmas a warm welcome to Adelaide.

Key Times:
- The Guinness World Record Mexican Wave attempt is at 9.10 am.
- The Credit Union Christmas Pageant departs South Terrace at 9.30 am.
- Father Christmas will arrive at the landing stage out the front of David Jones at
approximately 11.25 am.
