It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Adelaide as the Credit Union Christmas Pageant comes to town.
The streets of Adelaide will signal the arrival of Christmas, as the Credit Union Christmas Pageant spreads festive cheer throughout the city tomorrow.
Acting Minister for Tourism Ian Hunter said the Pageant something everyone in South Australia looks forward to.
"The Credit Union Christmas Pageant is a long held South Australian tradition that celebrates community and Christmas spirit," he said.
"We encourage people of all ages to come and line Adelaide’s streets to be part of the 2016 Credit Union Christmas Pageant."
In its 84th year, the Pageant annually kicks off the festive season, with a celebration of art, colour and creativity.
Three new floats have been included in this year’s line-up – Father Christmas Rules, The Nutcracker Christmas Ballet and a new Stardust Castle – while several favourites have been refurbished.
More than 2500 characters will bring smiles to the faces of an expected 320,000 spectators lining the 3.3-kilometre Pageant route.
The route begins at the junction of South Terrace and King William Street, heading north and then east through Victoria Square on to Wakefield Street, down Pulteney Street to Grenfell Street before the run home along King William Street again and finally North Terrace.
The Pageant will take place at 9:30am, Saturday 12 November.
