Where better to celebrate Christmas than in the home of the Credit Union Christmas Pageant, the City of Adelaide!

The heart of South Australia has SO much happening through the festive season, from lights, to decorations, markets and more, there's something for everyone.

The season of magic and joy in the City of Adelaide has always been synonymous with community celebrations, and there's plenty of opportunity to get together and celebrate. It all kicked off with the Credit Union Christmas Pageant and continues right through to New Years Eve.

Lighting of the Christmas Tree – 1 December. Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga

The annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree this year takes place on a Saturday from 5.00pm - 9.00pm, hosted by Adelady's Hayley and Lauren, and will be a night full of entertainment and Christmas fun!

There'll be free activities for kids, including face painting, giant games and toys, a smorgasboard of delicious food trucks, live music from Gospo Collective, and of course, the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree at 8.30pm. The Lord Mayor of Adelaide will push the giant red button to officially light up the big Christmas Tree in Victoria Square!

Eighty Eight O'Connell Twilight Christmas Market - 8 December: 88 O'Connell St, North Adelaide

If you love a good Christmas market than put this one in your diary! The Tynte Street Market is joining forces with Handmade in Adelaide for one huge family-friendly fair! There'll be over 60 stalls, free kids entertainment, food, and even real Christmas Trees for sale!

There's nothing quite like shopping handmade and local for your Christmas gifts!

Christmas Lights, Festive Nights - 15-23 December: Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga

Every day from the 15th to the 23rd of December, from 4pm-9pm, you can enjoy a festive playground in Victoria Square, complete with colour, live music, food trucks, and even Christmas movies!!

There's an exciting program of events on offer, include stage shows with magicians and music, carols, DJ and acoustic tunes, festive food from some delicious food trucks, plenty of games and toys, and most excitingly, a life sized Santa Sleigh and Rudolph the Reindeer display made of over 130,000 Lego Bricks! You don't want to miss that one!
